Weekly Announcements for October 9, 2023

Good afternoon from Patton High School,

We hope the recent warm weather has allowed you to enjoy this past weekend.  Fall weather is sure to take over the daily forecast soon.  We look forward to all the activities and events that come with the upcoming autumn traditions.

This Tuesday, student assemblies will be held at Patton.  Students will be given information on Suicide Prevention Awareness and College and Career Planning for their future.  These are very important topics for our students.  We expect all of our Patton students to be in attendance to receive this valuable information for their well-being and future.

The 10-week grading period ends this Friday.  That means we are a quarter through the school year.  We ask parents and caregivers to encourage their child to work extra hours at home.  Recovering lost credits means extra work at home is necessary.  If you have any questions, please come by Patton or contact Principal Paek.

Saturday, October 14th, is the start of our Saturday School Academy, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Registration forms will be sent home with your child on Monday.  We encourage all our students to register and attend the six weeks of Saturday School.  Extra credit is being offered for students who attend at least 5 Saturdays.

Lastly, looking ahead to Saturday, October 21st.  Students, parents, and families are invited to the L.A.U.S.D. College and Career Fair at Cal State University, Dominguez Hills with over 80 colleges and universities, including H.B.C.U.  We have reserved a bus just for Patton students, parents, and families.  Bus pick up at Patton at 8:00am.  More info to come.  Save the date and join us.
