Greetings Patton Families,
This week we honor all the men and women who have served in the Armed Services. We honor our own teacher, Mr. Rodriguez, for his service in the U.S. Army. L.A.U.S.D. schools will be closed on Friday, November 10th, in observance of Veterans Day.
On Monday, November 6th, Patton students will participate in an assembly from the Long Beach Women's Shelter. They will present important information on safe and healthy relationships.
On Tuesday, Patton parents and guardians are invited to attend a Financial Aid Awareness workshop. College can be free in California if you know what to do. Choose to attend in the morning at 8:30 a.m. or in the afternoon at 5:00 p.m. We hope you will have the time to join us.
On Wednesday, our students will hear from former N.F.L. professional football player, Kory Minor. He has been brought to us by Sharefest as part of the career development course.
Lastly, do you know about our Winter Academy. We are taking registration for students who can attend extra school sessons December 18, 19, and 20 during the winter break. Contact the Patton Office at (310) 257-4740 for questions or to register your student over the phone.
We appreciate all of you and your children. We must work together to reach their goal, a high school diploma. Daily attendance is the only way for them to get there.
