Greetings Patton Families,
We are so proud of the students that attended the field trip to Catalina Island. The had an amazing day visiting a pottery studio and learning about the art and artists of the island. Thank you to our chaperones and the District's Cultural Arts Passport funds that made this fun and exciting trip possible.
Last Friday was the end of the first 10 weeks of school. Student courses should be approximately 50% complete, if they want to be done by Winter Break. Parents/guardians can access class progress through Edgenuity's Parent Portal. Contact Mr. Paek for assistance.
It's another busy week here at Patton with many opportunities for your student.
Tuesday, Patton will be hosting our annual College & Career Fair. We will have presentations from El Camino College, LA Harbor College, and LA Trade Tech. We will also have representatives from Harbor Occupational Center, US Marine Corps, US Navy, and Boys & Girls Club of the LA Harbor, and other work force agencies. Presentations start at Period 2 (9:20am) and continue through lunch (end at 11:55am).
Thursday, all students and staff will participate in the California ShakeOut exercise. The annual earthquake and natural disaster preparation activity is to remind us all of the importance of being prepared for a catastrophic event. Contact Mr. Paek if you have any questions.
Also on Thursday, we have a special presentation from the Long Beach Women's Shelter on healthy relationships. Presentations will be done in Room 2 during periods 4 and 5.
If you are a member of our School Site Council, our monthly meeting will be held on Thursday at 1:40pm in Room 1. Let Mr. Paek know if you cannot attend.
Lastly, Friday is our monthly Coffee with the Principal parent meeting. This month's topic is Substance Abuse and Awareness. We welcome all parents/guardians. Meeting will be at 2:00pm in Room 1.
Have a great week and remember, attending school every day will help your student reach their diploma faster.
